LecturePoll is a live classroom polling tool. Instructors create polls from within PowerPoint (using the LectureNotes add-in), and students join and respond from this website using a join code or QR code shown on the projected slide. This page explains what information is collected when you use it, and what isn't.

What we collect when you submit a response

• Student number (required) — used to identify your submission, stop the same person from voting twice on one poll, and let the instructor see who has or hasn't responded.
• Name (optional) — only if you choose to enter it.
• Your response — the option(s) you selected, the rating you gave, or the text you typed, depending on the poll type.
• Timestamp — the time your response was submitted.

That's the complete list. We don't collect your email address, a password, payment information, your location, or your device's identity.

"Anonymous" polls

Some polls are configured by the instructor to hide student identity on the results screen. This only changes what's displayed to the class — your student number and name (if given) are still submitted and stored the same way as any other poll; anonymous mode does not change what's collected, only what's shown.

Local storage on your device

This site uses your browser's local storage for two things only: remembering your light/dark theme preference, and remembering that you've already responded to a given poll on this device (so the form doesn't reopen for you). Neither of these is sent anywhere — they stay on your device and are specific to this browser.

Who can see your response

Live results are only visible to the instructor's own results screen, which requires a presenter PIN the instructor sets when creating the poll. Other students only see aggregated results (e.g. a bar chart of everyone's answers), never a list of individual responses tied to names.

Where your data is stored

Responses are stored in a Google Database, accessed only through this site's own server-side functions. The database credentials never reach your browser or any other student's device.

How long we keep it

Poll responses remain stored until the instructor deletes the poll or resets its results from within PowerPoint. There's no automatic expiration, so data may persist for as long as the instructor keeps the presentation's poll slides around.

Third-party services

This page loads publicly hosted libraries (for styling and, on the results screen, charting) from third-party content delivery networks. These are used only to render the page in your browser and are not given any of your response data.

Your choices

If you want a response corrected or removed, ask the instructor running the session — they can delete individual responses or reset the poll entirely from the add-in.
